Gross revenue of Macao's horse racing 2014-2022
The horse racing sector in Macao shrunk greatly within five years, reaching its lowest gross revenue of 39 million Macau patacas in 2022. The sector accounted for less than one percent of the city's gaming and gambling industry. The Macao Horse Racing Company, which also runs the Macao Jockey Club, has the monopoly on horse racing betting for four decades in the city. Since 2004, the company has reported an annual deficit. Its accumulated losses amounted to over one billion Macau patacas in early 2019.
