According to a survey conducted in 2018 about international sales in family businesses in India, 89 percent of the respondents plan to export their goods and services in the next five years. A slight decrease in international sales by Indian family businesses was seen in 2018 from the previous survey data of 2016.

The original question was "Approximately what percentage of your sales come from exporting or selling goods and/or services in foreign countries at the moment?" and "And approximately what percentage of your sales do you think will come from exporting or selling goods and/or services to foreign countries in 5 years’ time?".
The survey in 2016 was conducted during 9 May, 2016 and 19 August, 2016, with 102 respondents.
