Number of registered oils and fats processing units India 2007-2015
During the fiscal year 2015, there were approximately 3,250 registered processing units for vegetable and animal oils and fats in India. In that year, there were approximately 36,600 registered food processing industries overall. The oils and fats processing units were part of the larger food processing sector, which was responsible for the employment of approximately 13 percent of the unorganized sector manpower during the fiscal year 2019.
