According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2023, around 50 percent of male respondents stated that they watched animation in a movie theater within the previous year. 49 percent of female respondents reported that they had done the same. Overall, an average of 49.5 percent of animation viewers went to movie theaters to watch animations that year.
