Box office revenue in Costa Rica 2015-2021
In 2021, the box office revenue in Costa Rica surpassed 16 million U.S. dollars, up from less than seven million dollars a year earlier – an annual growth of over 130 percent. Despite the increase, the 2021 figure amounted to less than 40 percent of the 41.7-million-dollar gross recorded in 2019, before the pandemic. Costa Rica had the highest box office revenue in Central America.
