During the fiscal year 2020, there was no increase in peak power demand in the Andaman and Nicobar islands of India as compared to the previous fiscal year. However the fiscal year 2018 witnessed a 70 percent growth from the previous year's demand. Almost 65 percent of the electricity consumed in the south Asian country is generated though thermal power plants.
