Latin America: perceived risk of coronavirus infection 2020, by transport mode

Bus transportation was perceived by Latin Americans as the riskiest means of travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a online survey carried out in September 2020. At the time, over one third of survey participants saw that mode of transport as the one posing the highest danger to get infected by the coronavirus. Meanwhile, air travel and cruise ships were each perceived as the riskiest mode of transportation by around one quarter of respondents. Nearly six out of ten Latin Americans surveyed would rather travel to short distance destinations.
