In 2021, Netflix was the most popular subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform in Italy based on market shares. The streaming service was closely followed by Amazon Prime Video, with a market share of 27 percent. Disney+ reached a market share of 16 percent, making it the third most popular SVOD service in Italy.
