A survey conducted in the United States in 2018 regarding trust in traditional authority figures showed that 91 percent of both Trump and Clinton voters trusted their friends to tell the truth. The two sets of voters were far more divided when it came to journalists, with only 16 percent of Trump voters believing them to be trustworthy, compared with 78 percent of Clinton voters.
