In 2022, the most common reason given for divorcing in Indonesia among Muslim marriages was constant arguing, with around 284 thousand divorces filed on that ground. Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, and for Muslims, divorce can be enacted either through petition through the courts, or through 'talak', which is the husband's right to end the marriage by pronouncing that he is divorcing the wife.
