Share of retail crime incidents in Russia 2016-2018, by season
Over the period from January 2016 to October 2018, the largest portion of crime incidents in the retail industry of Russia was observed in the winter season, accounting for over 31 percent of total cases. According to the source, this could be explained by several reasons, such as a higher number of shoppers due to Christmas and New Year holidays, fewer daylight hours, as well as the display of high-value products, such as fur coats. The second most popular period for the retail crime was summer, with a share of 27.5 percent.
