The number of newly registered plug-in hybrid vehicles in Flanders (Belgium) increased from 2016 to 2017, before decreasing again from 2018 onwards. In 2016, Flanders counted roughly 5,600 plug-in hybrid vehicle registrations. This increased significantly in 2017. However, in 2018 the registration volume decreased to 6,900 plug-in hybrids and as of 2019, a little less than 6,700 plug-in hybrids were registered.
