From 2014 onwards, the sales volume of the Toyota Prius decreased significantly compared to the previous years. In 2020, 62 Prius models were sold, whereas back in 2012 it amounted to nearly 7,000. The disappointing sales volumes can be explained by the increase in competition on the electric and hybrid vehicle market as well as the increase of internal competition (Corolla, RAV4, C-HR etc.)
