Annual expenditure on children's sport in the U.S. 2019
On average, a family in the United States spent 693 U.S. dollars annually per child in one sport. This included an estimated 144 U.S. dollars on equipment and a further 196 U.S. dollars on travel. Some of the most expensive sports included ice hockey, skiing and snowboarding, and field hockey, primarily due to the equipment costs associated with those sports.
