In 2022, the monthly minimum wage in Jakarta was 4.64 million Indonesian rupiah. Jakarta has the highest minimum wage, followed by Papua. Despite being one of the least developed provinces in Indonesia, Papua has one of the highest minimum wages in Indonesia. This is due to its high logistical costs. For the same commodities, the price outside of Java island is usually higher, reaching five times higher in Papua.
