The field of activity revolving around care is known to face gender inequalities. In Belgium, psychologists care for mental health are no exception to this rule. From 2013 to 2018, roughly 80 percent of registered psychologists were women.
For instance, 83 percent of psychologist were women in 2018. Furthermore, this gender gap seemed to deepen over the years. If 21 percent of psychologists were men in 2013, this share decreased to 17 percent in 2018.
