Crude birth rate of Thailand 1925-2020
In 1925, the crude birth rate in Thailand was 44 births per thousand people, meaning that just over four percent of the population would be born in that year. Thailand’s crude birth rate would mirror the country’s fertility rate closely, with little change until the 1970s, when the crude birth rate would fall sharply; this has been attributed to the country’s rapid liberalization after mass uprisings in the 1970s and improvements to Thailand's healthcare system. The crude birth rate would then proceed to fall steadily for the remainder of the 20th century and into the 21st century. As a result, in 2020, it is estimated that Thailand's has a crude birth rate of just 10.5 births per thousand people.
