Leading activities for foreign direct investment in the UK 1997-2018
Between 1997 and 2018, there were a total of 15,223 FDI projects in the United Kingdom (UK). The leading types of projects were for sales and marketing activities, accounting for 7,156 projects or approximately 47 percent. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is usually made when an investor acquires business interest in a foreign country through establishing business operations or acquiring assets. This is considered an important source of capability, economic activity and jobs.
