Services sector's value added to GDP per worker Haiti

The value added by the services industry to the gross domestic product in Haiti decreased by 52.7 U.S. dollars per worker (-1.78 percent) since the previous year. In 2019, the value added thereby reached its lowest value in recent years. Notably, the value added has been, with the exception of 2011, continuously decreasing over the last years.

Value added per worker is used to measure labor productivity. It is calculated by dividing value added of a sector by the number of employed in the sector. Value added refers to the value of the gross output of producers less the value of intermediate goods and services consumed in production, before accounting for consumption of fixed capital in production.

Value added is the net output of a sector after adding up all outputs and subtracting intermediate inputs. It is calculated without making deductions for depreciation of fabricated assets or depletion and degradation of natural resources.
