Number of Italians living in Africa 2019, by length of stay

As of January 2019, about 68.9 thousand Italians lived in the African continent. The largest part of them was registered living there for more than ten years (36.8 thousand individuals). Additionally, 4.5 thousand people were recorded living in Africa for less than a year.
In the last years, the number of Italians reported to live abroad constantly rose. In 2019, 5.3 million Italians lived outside of the country, about two million people more than in 2006.
