In 2018, the industry which had the highest number of claims in New Zealand for work-related injuries, which resulted in a week or more off work was the manufacturing industry. This industry had almost 6,300 claims, which resulted in a week or more away from work. In comparison, the public and administration safety industry, had just 831 claims which resulted in a week or more away from work in New Zealand in 2018.
