As of January 2021, 30 percent of all Italians who moved abroad in the last year moved to the United Kingdom. Germany was the second most common destination, whereas France and Switzerland followed as third and fourth most popular emigration countries, respectively.
Italians living in Argentina make up the largest group of Italian people living abroad. Data from the Registry of Italians Resident Abroad show that 15.6 percent of all Italians abroad in 2021 lived in this South American state.
