Number of traffic violation cases Kolkata India 2016-2018
The number of traffic violation cases across the eastern city of Kolkata in India stood at around 5.5 million in 2018. The number of cases has reduced by almost two million as compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, traffic management has emerged as a challenging aspect across metropolitan cities in India. Huge traffic volumes in limited road space combined with pedestrian congestion and sub-standard infrastructure have made managing traffic a daunting task.
