Bulgaria balance of payments 1970-1990
In the final two decades of communism in the Eastern Bloc, Bulgaria's international trade balance was negative in most years, with a cumulative current account balance of approximately -2.8 billion U.S. dollars over these two decades. Bulgaria ran a negative trade balance for most of the period, importing more than they exported, apart from the late 1970s and early 1980s, where exports exceeded imports.
