Number of policies sold by specialized insurers India FY 2011-2021
In fiscal year 2021, Indian specialized insurers sold around 42 million insurance policies across the country. The reason for a jump in sold policies from around eight million policies in 2019 was the inclusion of crop insurances under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
