In a survey conducted in 2019, regarding whether or not a criminal conviction for a young person under the age of 18 should affect their future opportunities, 35 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that criminal convictions should not affect the future opportunities of any under 18 year-old. Comparatively, only four percent of respondents strongly disagreed with the statement, and thus believed criminal convictions received under the age of 18 years old should affect future opportunities, such as employment.
