Number of PG&E customers affected by rolling blackouts by county 2019
In October 2019, Pacific Gas and Electricity (PG&E) began a series of power shutoffs in order to prevent igniting wildfires through power lines. These rolling blackouts would impact some 800,000 customers that were located in several Bay Area counties in California as well as Northern and Central California. It was estimated that roughly 32,000 customers were impacted by the deliberate power shutdowns in Napa County.
