Average value of remittances in South Korea 2018, by age
According to an analysis of remittances in South Korea in 2018, the average value of all remittances for 2018 was around 36 thousand U.S. dollars. Elderly in their early 70s showed the highest average among different age groups, sending or receiving around 44 thousand dollars. This age group was followed by people in their late 40s and the under-20s. The lowest average came from people in their twenties, who on average sent out or received only around 25 thousand dollars.
