Suicides in Uruguay 2021, by state
In 2021, more than 760 people committed suicide in Uruguay. Montevideo was the Uruguayan state with the largest number of suicides, accounting for over 30 percent of the total number (243 cases). It was followed by Canelones, with 119 suicides that year. Maldonado and Salto were among the most affected states as well, with 45 and 34 cases, respectively.
