In 2019, 77 percent of Walmart's overall retail sales came from the company's home market of the United States. In contrast, foreign operations accounted for the majority of some of the other leading global retailers' sales that year. A prime example of this is H&M, with 97 percent of the clothing retailer's sales taking place outside of the company's home market of Sweden that year.
