The number of domestic tourist arrivals in the Italian municipality of Venice increased significantly in 2022 over the previous year, following a sharp drop with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, Lombardy was the leading domestic travel market in the city over the period considered, with roughly 189 thousand overnight stays in 2022. That year, Lazio followed in the ranking, with around 105 thousand overnight stays.
