Japan: most popular devices to play video games among young people 2019

According to a survey conducted in Japan from January to March 2019, more than 80 percent of respondents aged 10 to 29 years old played video games on smartphones in the last twelve months. About half of respondents played games on home consoles. The survey was conducted with a focus on gaming disorders. Gaming disorders were recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a medical condition in May 2019.
