Retail sales channel breakdown in selected African markets in 2019

In 2019, the sales value share of the informal retail channel amounted to 67.9 percent across the markets of South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. Traditional grocery retailing accounted for just over a fifth of retail sales value in these markets that year.
