From 2015 to 2022, the sales value of meat substitute products in restaurants was foreseen to steadily increase in Italy. In 2018, the highest sales value was registered in quick service restaurant and fast food, with around 20 million U.S. dollars. In traditional restaurants the value of sold meat substitutes was measured lower at 8.2 million U.S. dollars in 2018.
