According to a study about elderly people over 65 years old in South Korea in 2018, around half of elderly people were neutral as to whether people their age should remarry or not. They thought it was alright to remarry but also alright to not remarry. Aside from them, around 18 percent thought it was preferable to remarry, while around 16 percent thought it was preferable to not remarry. These figures have changed only slightly in the past several years, with around half consistently remaining in the middle.
