How many of the nominated candidates were female in the most recent Swedish parliamentary election? In 2018, 44.2 percent of the candidates in the general election were female. The Swedish parliament (Riksdag) consists of 349 elected representatives, and the general elections also known as Riksdagsval are held every four years.
