Votes cast in the1st round of the legislative elections in France 2017, by party

This diagram shows the distribution of votes cast in the first ballot of the legislative elections of 11 June 2017 in France, by political party. In total, approximately one third of the votes cast were in favour of the political party of President-elect Emmanuel Macron, La République en marche. The Socialist Party emerged particularly weakened from this election, since its candidates had gathered less than 10 percent of the votes in France. Finally, this first round recorded an unprecedented abstention rate of around 51 percent, meaning that a bit more than half of the registered voters in France went to the polling stations.
