U.S. share of carbon dioxide emissions by sector 2017
The U.S. transportation sector was the largest emitter of carbon dioxide in that country in 2017, accounting for around 34 percent of these emissions, followed closely by the electricity sector, accounting for 33 percent of the nation's emissions.
