Since 2001, the use of cannabis has been on the rise in Belgium. Whilst 2.7 percent of Belgians had consumed cannabis at least once in the previous month in 2001, figures nearly doubled over the years. For instance, Belgians who used cannabis within the last month reached 4.3 percent in 2018. Nonetheless, the use of cannabis declined in 2013 before rising again in 2018.
