In the academic year 2021/2022, 44.8 percent of people aged 19 to 25 enrolled at university in Italy. In particular, the largest share of enrollment was registered in the central regions of Italy. On the contrary, in the north-east, 38 percent of individuals between 19 and 25 years were enrolled in a university program, the lowest share nationwide. In the same academic year, over 1.15 million students were enrolled in a bachelor program in Italy.
