Italy: top female wheelchair tennis players by ITF score 2020

As of October 2020, Giulia Capocci was the female wheelchair tennis player in Italy, recording the highest ITF score. According to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) ranking, she scored a total of 611 points, ranking 26th in the ITF wheelchair tennis world ranking. Moreover, Marianna Lauro followed in the list with a total of 350 points. Lauro ranked 40th in the ITF wheelchair tennis world ranking as of the survey period.

Regarding the ranking system, the source specifies: "The official ITF Seniors World Rankings are calculated on a 52-week rollover system and are published weekly throughout the year. This will include rankings for Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.[...] Each ranking takes into account only points earned in the preceding 12 months from the ranking date. At any given time, however, only the latest Young Seniors,Seniors and Super-Seniors World Championships count for ranking purposes.

To receive ranking points in a singles, doubles or mixed doubles tournament, a player must reach a round where points are available. The number of points available varies depending upon the grading of the tournament and the round reached".
