Absorption rate of office real estate in APAC 2016-H1 2022
The absorption rate of office real estate in the Asia-Pacific region decreased notably since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. In 2020, the absorption rate fell to about 30 million square meters, down from a four-year average of 58 million square meters. Nevertheless, the sector has started recovering, with the net absorption slightly below the historical average for the equivalent period.
