From 2009 to 2018, the most common magnitude of earthquakes registered in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands ranged between 2 and 3. In that period of time, more than half of the quakes recorded (53 percent) had a magnitude scale of between 2 and 3, and only one percent were between 4 and 5.
