Target of domestic market obligation on coal in Indonesia 2015-2024

In 2023, the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has set a domestic market obligation (DMO) on coal production to around 176.8 million metric tons. Since the latest Ministerial Decree in the end of 2019, from 2020 on, 25 percent of Indonesia's coal production has to be sold in the domestic market. By 2024, the ESDM expects to sell about 187 metric tons of coal on the domestic market.
