Share of installed generation capacity in Egypt 2020/2021, by type
In 2020/2021, combined cycle accounted for the largest share of installed capacity of electricity generation in Egypt at over 55 percent. On the other hand, renewables and hydro accounted for the lowest share at 5.4 percent and 4.85 percent, respectively. The total amount of installed electricity generation capacity reached about 58,818 megawatts as of the same year.
