U.S. awareness of antibiotic resistance and viral outbreaks 2019
According to a 2019 survey, the majority of adults in the U.S. did not know that the overuse of antibiotics does not lead to to the outbreak of viruses such as the measles. Only 39 percent indicated correctly that antibiotic overuse and viral outbreaks are unrelated. This statistic shows awareness of that antibiotic resistance and viral outbreaks are unrelated in the U.S. in 2019.
