According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in November 2019, around 56.2 percent of 25 to 34 year old respondents in Hong Kong said that they had consumed fermented and probiotic drinks that claimed to promote gut health, such as kombucha tea or beverages with added raw apple cider vinegar. Meanwhile, 35.7 percent of respondents above 54 years confirmed this statement .
