Between January and August 2023, the European country registering the largest number of migrants' arrivals was Italy. As of October 2, 2023, 134,162 immigrants reached Italy by sea. Spain had the second largest number of arrivals by sea. Greece and Bulgaria were the other two countries to record also migrants' arrivals by land.
