According to exit polls for the 2020 New Hampshire Democratic primary, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders had a significant lead over other candidates among voters identifying as "very liberal," with 46 percent of the vote. Among moderates and conservatives, former South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg was the preferred candidate, with 27 percent and 20 percent of the vote, respectively.
