Demand for finished steel products worldwide 2015-2019

Global demand for finished steel products rose by almost 268 million metric tons between 2015 and 2019, and the industry witnessed an increase of around 3.5 percent between 2018 and 2019. This is believed to be partly due to the underrepresentation of demand from induction furnaces in China in official statistics. The actual growth between 2018 and 2019 was estimated to be around 1.3 percent.
